A publication for people who print

A printer is a tool for making something useful, personal, or worth keeping. Our coverage starts there, with the way a machine fits into your home and the things you want it to do.

Clear about our evidence

Our reviews and guides are research-led. We compare independent lab measurements, manufacturer specifications, running costs, and owner reports, and cite the sources behind each conclusion. We do not claim to have tested a printer unless we have.

How the site is funded

Our articles contain affiliate links. When you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide which printers we recommend or how we score them.

Help us get it right

Specifications change, products are replaced, and mistakes happen. If you spot an error, our contact page explains how to report it, and we correct articles promptly and note meaningful changes.

Where we started

The Printer Review is run by the moderator of r/PhotoPrinters, a community for people who print their photos. We say so in the subreddit too, and community posts never hide links to this site.

Who writes our articles

Buying guides, comparisons, and advice are written by The Printer Review team. Reviews carry the name of the person who wrote them. Every article cites the sources behind its conclusions.
